CAD CENTER CORPORATION from Japan used LightAct for interactive projection mapping of video content for an exhibition at the Oita Prefectural Museum of History in Usa City, Oita Prefecture, Japan.

In 2021 the museum unveiled an exhibition called “Buddhist Culture in Usa and Kunisaki”, and the main feature of the permanent exhibition is a life-size model of the “Fukiji Temple” and the “Kumano Magaibutsu Dainichi Nyorai Statue”.

CAD CENTER created a projection mapping using the walls of the two full-scale models, and were in charge of all aspects of planning, direction, video production, and equipment installation.

Atsushi Kudoh from CAD CENTER who was the main LightAct operator on the project said: “Initially, I had a very basic knowledge of LightAct, but the node-based visual scripting allowed me to visually check the flow of the program while I worked on it, which made the learning process smooth.

The projection mapping needed to include interactive visual elements and CAD CENTER decided for LightAct because of the large number of sensing devices it supports.
