Map content to video screens of all shapes and sizes in myriad different ways.
2D or 3D Mapping
When it comes to getting the content to your video screens, LightAct gives you plenty of options.
You can go the 2D route by manually selecting the region of the content you want to map to a specific screen or you can choose the 3D route.
Here, you can ‘throw’ your content onto your video screens with 3 different types of throwers.
3 Thrower Types
Throwers ‘throw’ content onto videos screens and objects in LightAct’s viewport. LightAct offers 3 different types of throwers:
- Perspective thrower throws the content onto video screens like a projector would
- Spherical thrower expects a 360° content and throws it all around
- Cubic thrower expects content in 6 or less squares, each of which is projected out of one face of a cube.
Non-planar and 10-bit displays
LightAct allows you to import 3D models of any size and map content to them. You can use 2D workflow through Canvas Setup window or 3D workflow using throwers.
If your 3D model consists of different objects, you can even map different content source to each object.
LightAct also supports 10-bit displays.
Output (Re)Mapping
The resolution of modern LED displays often exceeds what your GPU can push through a single output. That’s where LightAct’s output remapping feature becomes handy.
It allows you to divide your content into sub-regions, scale, rotate and even duplicate them as you push them out through several GPUs outputs. This content composition gets reassembled downstream by LED screen pre-processors.
