Boucheron Flagship Tokyo Store

A responsive media facade made with LightAct and Unreal Engine 5.

In 2022, LightAct was approached by Random Studio, an experience design studio based in Amsterdam and Paris, to provide technology for Boucheron’s new flagship store in Tokyo.

The project included an ever-evolving real-time content that is projected onto the facade of the store and displayed on the screens in its interior.

The content grows with the seasons and is rendered in real-time with Unreal Engine 5 using LightAct’s Unreal Engine plugin.

This project was one of the first ones where LightAct 4 was used with Unreal Engine 5 and on top of that there is some quite innovative workflow involved.

Mitja Prelovšek, CEO of LightAct said: “This project uses moving Unreal Engine cameras combined with nDisplay. We were very happy to achieve that whilst keeping LightAct’s signature high performance.

The entire project runs on a single reActor xr which keeps the content running at a comfortable 30FPS.
