Wooden Ships Festival
"LightAct was running without a fault for 6 straight days - the entire duration of the festival."

When high-profile cultural events require absolute reliability and visual precision, the hardware and software choices become the backbone of the experience.
For a recent six-day maritime festival in Jeddah, the team at Media Project turned to LightAct to power an intricate welcome zone installation that blended spiritual heritage with modern projection mapping.
The installation was designed to greet visitors as they entered one of the festival’s primary maritime pavilions. Rather than a standard flat screen, the scenographic concept centered on a large-scale physical book sculpture set against a curved architectural background.
The goal was to create a seamless “digital skin” over this structure, featuring a beautifully rendered Quranic quote that served as the centerpiece of the pavilion’s narrative.
"With LightAct's projection mapping tools, it was very intuitive to set everything up."

Technical Execution
Programmers Roman Borshevsky and Artemy Kushulun utilized LightAct’s robust media server capabilities to handle the complex geometry of the book and the surrounding curves.
Projection Setup
The setup utilized three high-output projectors. Using a 3D model-based workflow, the team was able to achieve pixel-perfect alignment on the irregular surfaces of the book object.
Reliable Performance
In the demanding environment of a high-traffic festival, uptime is everything. LightAct ran continuously for 144 hours (six days straight), ensuring the welcome zone remained vibrant from the first visitor to the last.
