CBRE Pin Table
Winner of iF Design Award 2026
"I am amazed how smoothly and quickly the work went."

In 2024, DCBolt Productions approached LightAct with a challenge that pushed the boundaries of kinetic engineering and real-time visualization.
The goal: to create a massive “pin table” with projection mapping capable of displaying any location on Earth.
This table functions as a physical 3D relief map, capable of raising and lowering pins to replicate any geographic location in the world. LightAct’s mission was to provide the “digital skin” for this mechanical marvel—a pixel-perfect projection mapping solution backed by fully autonomous calibration.
"LightAct has become our go-to provider of advanced projection mapping technology."

DCBolt Productions chose the best server configurations offered by LightAct at the time: reActor xr3 and Double xr.
To facilitate an easy one-click recalibration of projectors, DCBolt opted for Iris, LightAct’s camera-based projector calibration technology.
Iris system in this project consists of 5 OptiTrack Prime cameras combined with passive and active markers on the projection object.
This enables completely automatic projector calibration.
"LightAct's use of discreet passive markers was essential for achieving the required precision while keeping the technology entirely invisible to the audience."

The result
The result is a centerpiece that feels less like a 3D screen and more like a living object.
Through the performance of LightAct servers and the unrivaled precision of Iris calibration, DCBolt created a world-first experience where any location and any building on Earth can be seen and explored in three dimensions.
